 7-Week Course for Couples Planning Marriage and a Church Wedding

Course Outline and Timetable

Session 1: Deciding for Marriage: Choosing a way of life

Session 2: Communication and decision making in marriage

Session 3: Healing inevitable hurts and handling difficult emotions

Session 4: Leave Father and Mother: What we bring in to marriage and need to leave behind

Session 5: Sex in marriage—a gift to communicate life and love

Session 6: Parenting: Your first child

Session 7: The Sacrament of Matrimony– preparing for your wedding and for your future life together.

Programme for the session?

Each session will include a presentation by a couple on the topic listed and will allow some time for each attending couple to talk together on the topic and on issues raised.  As each couples privacy is fully respected there is no group discussion.  Individual couples are given time in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss the topics together with some question aids and materials provided to help their discussions.

What is the cost?

The cost per couple is €70.00, or €10.00 per session.  Cost of the course includes all materials, handouts and light refreshments.

What does the Course offer?

If you are planning to get married, or even seriously thinking of getting married, this is a modern course that will both challenge and inform you.

The course concentrates on what it takes to have a really healthy marriage, where the relationship can deepen and where problems and issues can be dealt with positively.  A good marriage is one where any problems get sorted positively.

The course is give by couples to couples, so you benefit from the presenting couple(s) sharing of their own experiences of marriage.

For couples preparing for a Catholic Church Wedding the course  provides sound and comprehensive preparation for the Sacrament of Matrimony.

A certificate of attendance is given on completion of the course.
